Course TP303: Troubleshooting, Adjustment and Repair of Overhead Contact Systems
Summary
Course 303, Troubleshooting, Adjustment & Repair of Overhead Systems, offers participants an overview to troubleshooting techniques and common strategies to resolve issues with major components of the overhead traction power electrification system. This will include an overview of what troubleshooting is, what symptoms may be seen or reported, what probable are allowing for these symptoms to appear, what tests and checks can be done and/or performed on the components making up the system, and what major inspection and maintenance actions you can use to resolve said issues.
Description
This course progresses from Course TP203, Inspection and Maintenance of Overhead Systems and participants are encouraged to review this course prior to going out into the field. The goal of this course is to highlight common troubleshooting scenarios that the traction power technician can analyze and apply to similar situations at the locations where they work. As a participant, you should approach this course in a manner that you reproduce a problem and apply your agency’s tools to the problem, and then synthesize your knowledge and skills.
