Since 2010, elevator/escalator maintenance subject matter experts from 5 member agencies and unions worked with instructional systems designers from the Transportation Learning Center to create training materials. The list of courseware as of Summer 2020 is listed in this document.
Course 213, Elevator-Specific Principles of Operation, assists the participant in demonstrating a working knowledge of the principles of elevator operation in a public transit system. This course covers such principles as general safety procedures; hydraulic, electric traction and machine room-less elevators; door systems; control systems; as well as provides the participant with an introduction to code specifications that are the standards for elevator operation.
Course 218, Elevator-Specific Hydraulic Elevators, assists the participant in demonstrating a working knowledge of the way a transit hydraulic elevator works including its control system and components. A very introductory look is also taken at maintenance of a transit hydraulic elevator. This will be covered more in depth in a later course.

302, Advanced Electrical Printreading, assists the participant in building on previous knowledge of reading prints, particularly ladder diagrams, towards understanding how electrical devices are represented on prints and how advanced printreading skills are essential for troubleshooting common electrical circuits found on escalators and elevators in a transit environment.
The Transit Training Network uses technology to enable learning and sharing of training resources across agencies to strengthen training for transit’s frontline workforce.
