The Transportation Learning Center (the Center) organizes multiple national training consortia to develop standards-based national training courseware for frontline occupations in public transportation organizations.
The facilities maintenance courseware section currently contains Elevator/Escalator Training Consortium Materials only. Materials are based on the national elevator/escalator maintenance training standards published by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA). Courseware Development Teams (CDTs), comprised of subject matter experts and instructional designers, hold regular webinars, site visits and in-person meetings to produce these materials.

Course 401 demonstrates a working knowledge and conceptual understanding of the essential operating functions and maintenance of programmable logic controllers (PLCs). In addition this course outlines the proper steps to diagnose problems related to PLCs.
The purpose of the Advanced System Analysis course is to assist the master technician participant in building on previous knowledge of inspection, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to explore principles and modes of root cause failure analysis and predictive maintenance, particularly their uses with escalators and elevators in a transit environment.
The Transit Training Network uses technology to enable learning and sharing of training resources across agencies to strengthen training for transit’s frontline workforce.
